For The First Time In History... I Kept My NYR! Three Lessons From a Year of Using AI Every Day
Last year, I made a resolution to use AI every day in my work. For the first time in my life, I kept a New Year's Resolution, which has truly transformed how I think, work, and innovate. But the transformation wasn't about AI replacing me—it was about AI amplifying me. Here are three lessons I've learned over the past year that might also change how you see AI.
1. AI Won't Get You a Job—But the Person Who Uses It Will
AI is a powerful tool that won't just hand you opportunities on a silver platter. It's about the user's skills, creativity, and willingness to embrace it. The true advantage lies in how you use AI, not just that you use it. It enhances productivity, supports creativity, and makes things possible that seemed overwhelming before.
But it's you, the user, who turns potential into value. The person who can use AI effectively is the one who will stand out and land the job or the opportunity.
2. AI Is Only as Good as Its User
AI can be smart, but it's not magic. The value it brings depends heavily on how you ask questions, prompt it, and direct its capabilities. Using AI effectively demands understanding your goals and a sense of curiosity. It helps you think better and faster, allowing you to look at the same problem from multiple perspectives.
But here's the catch: you need to feed it those perspectives or at least ask it to consider different angles. In other words, your output's quality still hinges on your input's quality. AI depends on the person behind the screen—its intelligence is only as sharp as your direction.
3. AI Doesn't Do Your Job—It Helps You Do It Better
I learned that AI isn't a replacement; it's a partner. It's tempting to take what AI gives you and simply copy-paste it. But that's not the way to unlock its true power. Every response from AI needs to be read, reviewed, and refined to truly fit your needs.
That's why I talk about "MyAI Team"—it's not just a tool; it's a team member. I use AI daily for ideas, drafting text, reviewing content, generating images, and creating videos. The value comes from collaboration—integrating AI's suggestions with your expertise, judgment, and creativity.
Remember, AI helps you do your job better, but you must do the thinking, refining, and decision-making.
4. Prompt Engineering: A Skill for the Future
One of the key things I've learned this year is the importance of prompt engineering—learning how to communicate with AI effectively. To get the most out of AI, you need to know how to guide it, ask the right questions, and tweak its responses to get what you need. The better you are at prompting, the better the output AI can generate. This is a skill that will become increasingly valuable in the coming years, so invest the time to learn it.
5. What did I do in one year?
First, I will show the initial article—"My NYR—to use AI every day—" where I decided on the Journey!
After that, I wrote "What laws of AI would Asimov have written today?" and I developed My AI Team!
I trained my colleagues about AI in Aesthetic Marketing at the 5CC Congress in Lisabona on June 13, 2024, and I am starting to develop a manual for prompts, both video and images, and have a library of visuals on my laptop!
Recently, I developed my virtual avatar as Dr. Neo, which was featured in the article „Introducing Dr. Neo: My Virtual Replica, CEO of My Virtual Activities, and Your Trusted Educator (Not an Influencer).„
Conclusion: Use AI as an Amplifier
I use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Ideogram, and RunWay every day!
Compounding? Clarity. Consistency. Control. Contribution.
After a year of daily use, I've learned that AI isn't a shortcut but an amplifier. It amplifies your skills, your ideas, and your energy. Use AI every day, every hour, for every task—and you will be ahead of 90% of people. AI won't take your job, but the person who uses AI effectively will take the lead. If you want to get better at anything, just do it every day. Whether it's using AI or learning a new skill, consistency is critical.
And finally—test, learn, and improve. That's how I approach AI, and that's how I approach growth.
